The shortage of the US dollar, coupled with recent global trends has limited access to foreign exchange, including cross-border payments. Chura, a kenyan web and sms based service that enables mobile users to access airtime and mobile money services across different mobile networks, has seen its own share of the entire quagmire.
The company had earlier begun operations of payments from Mpesa to Paypal though its virtual card, which it stated via a twitter blog post.
Njogu Kinyanjui, a team member of the Chura team, futher highlighted steps on how owners of Chura virtual card can also attach their cards to paypal. However, these services have since been suspended. The fintech company stated this:
To our esteemed users, we are working to get the Mpesa to Paypal service back online. In the meantime we have a solution that works perfectly : The Chura Virtual Debit Card.

Samuel Njuguna Wangui, another team member of the Chura fintech brand, gave a detailed guide on how prospective kenyans can acquire and utilise the Chura virtual debit Card.
Chura carries a host of financial services, including payments from paypal to mpesa which it offers alongside, personal mobile airtime purchase and mass airtime top-ups.
